1975: Μια χρονιά με πολλά αριστουργήματα. Από πού να ξεκινήσεις και πού να τελειώσεις. Ας κάνω την αρχή από ένα πολύ ποιοτικό συγκρότημα, που έβγαλε μόνο δύο δίσκους το 1975 και το 1976 πριν διαλυθεί.
Ο τραγουδιστής (μπερδεύεται από τους περισσότερους που νομίζουν ότι ακούνε γυναίκα) είναι ο David Surcamp. Από τον πρώτο τους δίσκο, ας ξεκινήσω με ένα τραγούδι που δεν μπορώ να του αντισταθώ (irresistible)...

Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen 1975


Το Bohemian Rhapsody" κυκλοφόρησε το 1975 σαν single, αλλά και σαν ένα κομμάτι του μεγάλου δίσκου των Queen, του ίδιου έτους, με τίτλο: "A night at the opera". Συνθέτης και στιχουργος ο αρχηγός του συγκροτήματος (και μακαρίτης από το 1991) Freddie Mercury. Μέχρι τότε οι Queen ήταν σχετικά άγνωστοι, αφού οι πρώτοι τρεις δίσκοι τους δεν είχαν σημειώσει σοβαρές πωλήσεις. Το τραγούδι αυτό όμως έφτασε στο Νο 1 στα charts της Αγγλίας και παρέμεινε εκεί εννέα εβδομάδες το 1975 και άλλες έξι το 1991, μετά το θάνατο του Freddie Mercury. Πρόκειται για ένα τραγούδι το οποίο παντρεύει την όπερα με το ροκ.
Ανάμεσα στις πολλές διακρίσεις που έχει κατακτήσει το συγκεκριμένο τραγούδι ξεχωρίζει η ανακήρυξη του σε Τραγούδι της Χιλιετίας από το Guiness Book of Records. Να σημειωθεί ότι η προώθησή του συνοδεύτηκε από το πρώτο στην ιστορία σκηνοθετημένο βίντεοκλιπ. Οι Queen είχανε πλέον καθιερωθεί αναπτύσσοντας τη δική τους προσωπικότητα. Η ιδιαίτερη και υπέροχη φωνή του Μέρκιουρι και ο ξεχωριστός ήχος της κιθάρας του Μπράιαν Μέι (κιθάρα την οποία κατασκεύασε ο ίδιος) τους έφερε πλέον στην κορυφή.
