Following the events of the first leg, a tense atmosphere is expected at the Palacio de los Deportes. Murcia will be playing for a place in the FIBA European Cup final against PAOK Thessaloniki , who will be supported by their fans. A total of 77 supporters will be in Murcia next Wednesday cheering on the Greek team against UCAM Murcia in the second leg of the FIBA European Cup semifinals.
They will be escorted and monitored by security agents both upon their arrival at the venue and upon their departure, as well as during the match, which they will watch from the upper part of the pavilion.
Members of the Murcia expedition denounced violent behavior by supporters and employees of the rival team and Juan Pablo Mendoza , creative director of UCAM CB, was spat on and kicked when he was taking pictures of the stands.
Sito commented on this after the first of the two games in this series. "We encountered a hellish, chaotic atmosphere, but with our fans things will be very different and we are excited and hopeful," the Madrid native stated.
