BRUGES - A year ago he cost 6 million euros, now Michael Krmencik can leave Club Brugge again. The Czech international was never able to appeal and Club is looking for a replacement. Nowadays, 19-year-old De Ketelaere also plays the tiles of the roof in his position, making the long striker completely unnecessary. "We discussed the state of affairs with Michael," said Clement.
It is the first time that they admit on the record at Club Brugge that the transfer of Michael Krmencik was not a match made in heaven. A year ago he was brought in from Viktoria Plzn because the transfer of the Argentinian Adolfo Gaich turned out to be too expensive. After three goals and three assists in 19 games, but above all a glaring lack of quality on the ball, Clement and co have now drawn their conclusions. A solution during the winter break is best for all parties. "We discussed matters with him," said Clement. “Until now, Michael has not delivered the return we - and he himself - expected. That has nothing to do with commitment, but with quality. We will see what the mercato brings. ”
Vincent Mannaert previously announced that Club will be looking for a new center forward this winter. This has to be done before Krmencik is rented or sold. “At the moment we don't have to get ahead of things yet. For the same money we cannot attract a new striker because the amounts on the transfer market are prohibitive. First someone else has to come, otherwise our core will become even narrower. ”
