Εκκολαπτόμενο δεινοσαυράκι δεν ήταν αυτός ή κάνω λάθος..? Βαρύ και αργό σέντερ, ότι γουστάρει ο Σούλης δηλαδή! Από τις εθνικές τον θυμάμαι, μετά χάθηκε, τον έφαγε ο Παπαγιάννης που πάει 35 στο ντραφτ και γενικά έχει μεγάλη πρόοδο. Αυτόν, μετά διαβάζω ότι τον πήρε η Νταρουσάφακα, τον έδωσε δανεικό στην Κηφισιά, δε στέριωσε ούτε εκεί και έφυγε τον Ιανουάριο για τη Σιμπένκα της Κροατίας..!

Τρεχαγυρευόπουλος δηλαδή, έπαιξε καθόλου μπάσκετ σε ομάδα (γιατί ούτε στον Παναθηναϊκό έπαιζε) ή μόνο τα καλοκαίρια στις εθνικές την έβγαζε..? Βασικά πόσο καλύτερος από τον Κώττα είναι που δε δίνουν χρόνο σε δικό μας παιδί που δουλεύει εδώ και πόσα χρόνια με την ομάδα..?

Palok τον εχω δει live απειρες φορες τον μικρο στο γηπεδο(βεβαια ηταν πιο μικρος τοτε)εδω.Και σε αγωνες και στο σχολειο/γηπεδο.Πρεπει να μαθει να "χορευει",να χρησιμοποει τα ποδια του δηλ(και δεν αναφερομαι μονο στο πλαγια αλλα και στο καθετα/αλμα) και να καταλαβει οτι τωρα παιζει με αντρες και οτι χρειαζεται motor.Το σουτ του δεν ειναι ασχημο,τουλαχιστον οταν τον εβλεπα εγω(τις βολες τις εβαζε "αχλουπητες" για σεντερ) αλλα αλλο να σε μαρκαρουν μαυροι σεντερ και αλλο ο ...Γρηγορης και ο ....Γιωργος .Πρεπει να μαθει να χρησιμοποιει τα κιλα του στις επαφες και καταλαβει οτι δε φτανει μονο το υψος αλλα πρεπει να εχει και αλμα και hard επαφη αν θελει να ειναι devasting .Ειναι ομως πολυ εξυπνος,δεν ειναι ατομιστης(θα την ψαξει τη πασσα και το καταλαβαινει το παιχνιδι πολυ καλα) και εργατικος.Του λειπουν αρκετα απ τα fondamentals(δεν ξερω για τωρα,ετσι?μη λεω και μακακιες για το παιδι χωρις να ξερω)αλλα παντα προσπαθει(σ αυτον τον τομεα δειχνει να ειναι καλυτερος απ τον Παπαγιαννη που -φαινομενικα-δειχνει πιο "μπλαζε").Σιγουρα δεν ειναι ο Σακιλ αλλα μια χρονια με το Σουλη θα ειναι θετικη( γι αυτον).
-Τωρα μιλαγα με τον "δικο μου" και ακομα δεν υπαρχει τιποτα απο νεωτερα για τη μεταγραφη.Μου ελεγε πιθανως να τον δεις σε κανα ...Απολλωνα Πατρας(ειναι της παλιας σχολης και αυτος ).Το θεμα ειναι αν μας κανει .Αν ναι με τρια τεσσερα χιλιαρικα παραπανω απ οτι δινουμε,με (το ξερει και ιδιος)Σουλη για μεντορα και χρονο συμμετοχης και λιγο "ψηστηρι" θα μπορουσε και να ερθει

2 παρατηρήσεις:

1) ξέρει ο οποιοσδήποτε εν ελλάδι,οτι ο σούλης στην ιεραρχία των Plays βάζει το Post-up πρώτο-πρώτο. Ακόμα και αν ο ψηλός του δεν έχει σύγχρονα fundamentals όπως πλάγια βήματα για να αμυνθείς στο pick$roll, ο Σούλης θα τον βάλει μέσα να παίξει την πλάτη του και να δημιουργήσει. Μιλάμε για τον πιο ABC προπονητή στην Α1, ξαναλέω δε λέω κάτι τώρα. Αν λοιπόν είμαι ο Διαμαντάκος και πάω στον Απόλλωνα Πάτρας αντί για τον Σούλη για λίγα χιλιάρικα, προφανώς κατανοώ τις δυνατότητες μου ως μπασκετμπολίστας και προσπαθώ να επιβιώσω (το οποίο προφανώς και ΔΕΝ ΕΙΝΑΙ ΚΑΚΟ, ειδικά στην εποχή που ζούμε- βέβαια στη ζωή υπάρχει και η διορατικότητα και η επένδυση ).

2) ο Hakeem Ολαγιουγιούν στα 15 του δεν ήξερε τι σημαίνει μπάσκετ στη Νιγηρία. Στον πρώτο χρόνο στο κολέγιο στο Michigan (αν θυμάμαι καλά) ήταν μεταξύ φθοράς και αφθαρσίας όπου μέσα σε 3 χρόνια έφτασε να γίνει νούμερο 1 του draft! Συνειδητοποίησέ το: στα 15 πιάνεις μπάλα πρώτη φορά, στα 18 είσαι μέτριος, στα 22 είσαι νούμερο 1 στα ντραφτ. Τι έκανε λοιπόν αυτός ο τύπος? Δούλεψε σαν σκύλος από το πρωί μέχρι το βράδυ με τον MOses Malone. Πού κατέληξε αυτός ο ΝΙΓΗΡΙΑΝΟΣ μετά από το Κολλέγιο όλοι το ξέρουμε (γιατί πολλοί έγιναν και ένα του νραφτ- Ολοβοκάντι- και μετά πήγαν άπατοι.

PS: είχα διαβάσει σε μια συνέντευξη του Χακίμ (για μένα ό,τι τελειότερα πρόλαβα να δώ σε ψηλό ever) Οτι όταν έφτασε στο Houston o Yao για να δουλέψει μαζί του, ήξερε (ο Yao) όλες τις κινήσεις του Hakeem απέξω!!!!

από κεί και πέρα, η ζωή είναι του καθενός.

αν έχει προσέξει κανείς τα ποστς μου θα δεί οτι είμαι βαθύτατα ρατσιστής στο χρώμα των αμερικανών παικτών, πιθανότατα επηρεασμένος από το white men cant jump .

Πάντα όμως υπάρχουν εξαιρέσεις στον κανόνα, και ένας εξ αυτών ήταν ο Wiltjer (τον οποίο πόσταρα ήδη) ο οποίος υπέγραψε στους Rockets.

ένας ακόμη είναι ο Jarrod Utthoff για τον οποίο διάβασα μόλις στο basketplus οτι επελέγη στο 54 του draft (μάλλον στο draft του πλανήτη άρη πρέπει να γινε αυτό). Φυσικά και είναι όνειρο θερινής νυκτός για τον ΠΑΟΚ (προσωπικά ποντάρω Γερμανία) αλλά τον ποστάρω έτσι...

Επιβεβαίωση για Παπαδόπουλο

Την Παρασκευή (24/6) αναφέραμε ότι ο ΠΑΟΚ ασχολείται έντονα με έναν νεαρό του Μαντουλίδη, τον Βασίλη Παπαδόπουλο. Ο εκπρόσωπος του παίκτη επιβεβαιώνει πως η πλευρά του αθλητή είναι σε συζητήσεις με τον ΠΑΟΚ και ότι ο Παπαδόπουλος βρέθηκε στο "Παλατάκι" για να προπονηθεί. Το θέμα του 18χρονου νεαρού φαίνεται, λοιπόν, πως είναι προχωρημένο και ίσως το επόμενο διάστημα υπάρχουν εξελίξεις.

όλος ο μπασκετικός κόσμος του ΠΑΟΚ και όχι μόνο έπεσε με τα μούτρα στα scouting reports να μάθει ποιός είναι ο παίκτης και τι προοπτικές έχει. Μοναδική περίπτωση νομίζω, κανείς πρέπει να λέει "παίζω στις προπονήσεις του ΠΑΟΚ" και όχι στον ΠΑΟΚ.

PS: μιλάμε για παιδιά 18-19-20 χρόνων που πρίν 10 χρόνια σε ένα κανονικό πρωτάθλημα παίζανε κανονικά. Τώρα παίζουνε 34'' σε ένα πρωτάθλημα που δεν έχει νόημα αν θα τερματίσεις 3ος ή 4ος ή 5ος. Ή έχει?, με έχετε μπερδέψει...

μιας και την Πέμπτη ολοκληρώθηκε το draft και θα πέσουν όλοι (και εμείς ως ομάδα) σαν τα κοράκια για να πάρουμε τα αποφάγια (undrafted και όσους δεν υπογράψουν συμβόλαια-δοκιμής μέχρι τον Οκτώβρη στο ΝΒΑ), να μαι και εγώ με τις προτάσεις μου σε ΚΑΘΕ ΘΕΣΗ.

ξεκινάω σήμερα από τη θέση 1 λέγοντας οτι πράγματι είχα στη λίστα μου και εγώ τους Andrews-Engilsh (όπως και τον Marcus Paige που μας τον άρπαξε η Utah στο 55- και επειδή θέλω όλα τα ονόματα που γράφω να είναι PURE δε βάζω και την τρίτη μου επιλογή τον Yogi Ferrell από την Indiana καθώς γράφηκε το όνομά του σε σχόλιο στο hoopfellas) αλλά δε νομίζω οτι ο Σούλης Μαρκόπουλος είχε ποτέ scoring guard στη θέση 1. Για να παραμετροποιήσουμε λίγο τα πράγματα, η διάκριση στα είδη των παικτών στη θέση 1 είναι πάνω-κάτω αυτή:

διαφωνίες και συζητήσεις μπορεί να υπάρξουν πολλές (για μένα 2 είναι οι βασικές κατηγορίες: ποιντ και scoring guard- ο combo είναι combo, είναι κατι άλλο, παίζει εξίσου και τις 2 θέσεις και η 4η κατηγορία είναι να χαμε να λέγαμε), μάλιστα είχαμε μεγάλη συζήτηση παλιά, anyway. To θέμα είναι να μπορείς με ΠΡΑΓΜΑΤΙΚΑ ΝΟΥΜΕΡΑ να πείς κάτι. Διαφορετικά πας σε συζητήσεις εμένα μ αρέσει ο Nash εμένα ο Curry κλπ.

Οι αριθμοί λοιπόν είναι
1) %AST: Assist percentage is an estimate of the percentage of teammate field goals a player assisted while he was on the floor.
2) %USG: Usage percentage is an estimate of the percentage of team plays used by a player while he was on the floor.
3) PPR: Pure Point Rating, based on assists and turnovers

Πολύ εύκολα μπορείς να πάρεις τους 10-15 καλύτερους senior PG του NCAA (ή μπορείς να τους πάρεις και όλους) και να βρείς το average (οπότε "καλοί" είναι όσοι περνάνε τον μέσο όρο).

1. Fred Vanvleet, 1.83, 22 ετών, από το Wichita State University, στη senior χρονιά του είχε 12.2 πόντους-5.5 ασσιστ.

scouting report: Fred VanVleet, along with backcourt mate Ron Baker, built quite a legacy during their four year career at Wichita State. VanVleet earned three MVC All-Conference 1st Team distinctions plus two conference player of the year awards, and leaves Wichita State as one of the winningest players in program history.

A steady hand at the point guard position, VanVleet has shown he can be a coach on the floor by being the conductor of an efficient offense, while averaging a solid 16.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 7.6 assists per 40 minutes. He never gets sped up with the ball and doesn't get fazed by ball pressure or double teams. He keeps the offense flowing and his 7.03 pure point rating is fourth best among all prospects in our top 100. He doesn't turn the ball over by trying to make highlight reel passes, but he takes care of the ball and has displayed great vision and feel for the game as a creator for his teammates.

VanVleet was measured at 6'1” in shoes during the 2015 Pan Am Training Camp with a 6'2” wingspan, which puts him below average in terms of height and length compared with most NBA point guards. He isn't a great athlete either, as he doesn't possess a high top speed or a quick burst, but he has an exceptionally high basketball IQ, can operate at different speeds and utilizes his strength well to make an impact in the half-court. VanVleet will have to prove he can translate his effectiveness against the more physically gifted guards he'll encounter at the professional level, but his feel for the game, on-court presence and stable demeanor will help his chances tremendously.

VanVleet is a pick and roll maestro, with 58% of his total possessions logged by Synergy Sports Technology derived from him running the pick and roll. He's an expert at using the ball-screen to create space to get inside the arc to make play, often by looking to get his teammates into space to shoot by delivering accurate, on point passes to the roll man, cutters or spot-up shooters. He turns the ball over on just 5.9% of pick and roll possessions and is never rattled no matter what level of pressure the defense throws at him. With the NBA being such a ball-screen heavy offense, VanVleet certainly has the chops to create some points from this play type while he is on the floor.

The key to VanVleet's effectiveness running an offense, despite not possessing exceptional size or athleticism, are his terrific ball-handling skills, coupled with his propensity for changing gears and keeping defenders off-balance. He operates at a pace that is unique to him, handling the ball on a string and finds a great mix between scoring and playmaking.

His best chance to score off ball screens is by pulling up for a jump shot, usually a three point attempt off the dribble. He shot 37.9% on 66 jump shots off the dribble logged by Synergy Sports Technology. He's also a fairly decent spot-up shooter, converting 38.1% of his attempts in his senior season with his attempts split fairly evenly between the two shot categories. The majority of these are three point attempts when he has the space to shoot with only 41 jump shots inside the arc as recorded by Synergy Sports Technology.

When he penetrates into the paint, he prefers to pass out rather than shoot because he isn't a great finisher inside the arc with a paltry 39.6% two point field goal percentage. third lowest among prospects in our top 100. While this poor mark does not fully remove him from draft consideration, since 2000 only Josh Selby and Andrew Harrison have been drafted while converting less than 40% of their two point attempts in the same season. To VanVleet's credit, he did shoot 45% from 2-point range in his college career as a whole.

With his below average tools, VanVleet struggles to get his shot off at the rim and can't always create space to attempt a floater before he reaches the restricted area. While he can get his defender on his hip to give him room to make a pass off the dribble, he rarely has enough separation for a shot attempt either close to the rim or as a pull-up two point jump shot. He will have to combine a three point jump shot off the dribble with his superb passing ability to be a multifaceted offensive threat.

VanVleet was one of the best defensive point guards in college basketball, but there are some question marks about how his below average size and length will allow this part of his game to translate to the professional level. He's constantly talking to by calling out plays and directing his teammates to where the action is heading. He can also pick up the ball before halfcourt to tire out his opponent and burn the shot clock by putting some pressure on the ball. He generated 2.5 steals per 40 minutes pace adjusted with his quick hands on the ball and will definitely provide some energy and toughness defensively.

Although VanVleet may not have prototypical size and athleticism for his position, he is a winning point guard who has plenty of intangibles a team could fall in love with, which could help easily help him earn a roster spot. He has a number of attributes NBA teams look for in backups, with his ability to make shots, find the open man, defend with toughness and keep mistakes to a minimum. Those are skills NBA teams value, and VanVleet could certainly play his way onto a NBA team when it's all said and done.

2016 NCAA Tournament

Arkansas-Little Rock made it to the tournament for the first time since 2011, when they fell in the First Four against UNC Asheville. Little Rock faced Big Ten's Purdue. Little Rock was down 65-52 with 3:33 left, and Hagins tied the game with a 3-pointer to send it to overtime. The Trojans eventually won 85-83, in 2 overtimes. It was the first win of the Trojans since 1986. 29 of 31 Hagins' points were made after the halftime.[3]Hagins is the 3rd player to score 30+ points on Purdue on NCAA tournament, aside Isiah Thomas and Lew Alcindor [wikipedia]



scouting report: Purdue could be on upset alert as they face one of the biggest surprise teams of the college basketball season in Arkansas-Little Rock.

The key to this game will clearly be on the interior, where Purdue has arguably the biggest and strongest frontcourt in the NCAA with two 7-footers in A.J. Hammons and Isaac Haas, and another bruising PF/C in Caleb Swanigan. The Boilermakers will look to throw the ball inside early and often, and they will test Little Rock's big men repeatedly in the post. UALR plays quite a bit of zone, which may make things a bit challenging for Purdue in terms of making entry passes and finding the open man out of double teams.

Where Little Rock could have an advantage is on the perimeter, where they are led by one of the most underrated point guards in the college game in Josh Hagins.

Hagins doesn't have great size or athleticism at around 6'1, but has a wiry frame with extremely long arms, great toughness, and a terrific feel for the game. He plays at different speeds, finding ways to create space for himself using crafty driving angles. Hagins is a solid perimeter shooter who is especially effective pulling up off the dribble. He's also a terrific distributor who loves to find the open man and is constantly probing with the dribble or the pass and does a great job of making his teammates better.

Defensively, he is competitive and uses his length well to contest shots all over the floor generating plenty of deflections and steals.

From an NBA standpoint, Hagins seems to be an inch or two too small on paper, and not quite freakishly athletic to make up for it, but he should definitely get looks from NBA teams and seems like a lock to be invited to Portsmouth. He can help himself tremendously with an upset win over Purdue, and will benefit greatly from the exposure of the NCAA platform if he's able to perform in this setting.

και ένα ακόμα σχόλιο για τους PG: φυσικά δεν υπάρχει πανάκεια και πάντα σωστή λύση. Απλά όπως είπα το να πάρεις scoring guard είναι λίγο ύποπτη σαν επιλογή. Πρέπει να πάρεις αυτόν πρώτα και μετά να στελεχώσεις την ομάδα κατάλληλα. Κάτι άλλο το οποίο μου έχει πεί προπονητής της Α1 και είναι πράγματι αλήθεια είναι οτι βασικά πρέπει να κοιτάς τι έχει κάνει η ομάδα στην οποία είναι αυτός που θες ο Playmaker: δεν είναι πολύ advanced statistics αυτό αλλά έχει νόημα. Δλδ αν ο Josh Adams Που πόσταρε ένας φίλος με 25 πόντους έρθει ευρώπη και σε 2 χρόνια οι ομάδες στις οποίες παίζει ποιντ είναι "επιτυχημένες", ε δεν μπορεί, είναι καλός!!! Το ίδιο λοιπόν θα ισχύσει και για τους Andrews-English.

και μετά την καλοκαιρινή μου μαλακία, προχωρώ γρήγορα-γρήγορα στους shootig guards.

1) Alex Hamilton, 1.93, combo 2/1 guard, 23 ετών, απόφοιτος του Louisiana Tech με 20.1 πόντους (30.3% τρίποντα, κακό ), 5.6 rebounds, 6.3 assists, νούμερα πολύ κοντά στον πολύ Isiah Cousins που λάτρεψε ο Μάτζικ στο PIT.

Scouting report:

A largely unheralded recruit coming out of Chipley high school in the rural Florida panhandle, Louisiana Tech junior Alex Hamilton has blossomed into one of the most intriguing guards at the mid-major level over the first two years of his collegiate career. Averaging 7.8 points, and 2.5 assists per-game as a freshman in 2013, Hamilton made an instant impact for Michael White's Bulldogs, but really blossomed as a sophomore, leading Tech in scoring at 14.6 points per-game as the team finished with 29 wins.

Standing 6'4 with a long and wiry, but fairly strong frame, Hamilton has nice size for a shooting guard to go along with terrific quickness, an attribute that has served him extremely well in White's aggressive, press-heavy defensive system and fast paced offense.

Hamilton's offensive role a year ago reflected White's style of play, as nearly a quarter of his possessions came in transition according to Synergy Sports Technology, to go along with significant usage creating one-on-one, on the pick and roll, and in spot up situations off the ball. Hamilton's ability to use his athleticism to create and score around the rim is easily his best offensive attribute at the moment.

Hamilton is a capable ball-handler who uses hesitation moves effectively, which coupled with his speed, make him a tremendous slasher at the collegiate level. His aggressiveness pays off, as his 8 free throw attempts per-40 minutes pace adjusted would ranks second among shooting guards in our Top-100 prospect rankings. Though Hamilton gets a bit out of control at times when in attack mode and needs to continue improving his right hand, he still finished at a 64% clip around the rim a year ago, a terrific mark for a guard.

Part of the reason Hamilton gets out of control is systematic—White gives his players significant freedom offensively as he wants to speed the game up, so the Bulldogs often take a lot of bad shots as a team—but the junior guard is also just an average jump shooter at this stage of his career, so his lack of tremendous confidence from the outside results in some amount of tunnel vision when he looks to score. Making just 29% of his pull-up jumpers a year ago, but 36% of his open catch and shoot attempts, Hamilton's mechanics waver and look rigid at times at times, but the lefty has enough range to force defenders to respect him from the perimeter and the building-blocks to continue improving as a shooter over time.

Playing alongside one of the most unique lead guards in the NCAA in Speedy Smith, Hamilton is not Louisiana Tech's point guard per se, but he is a good passer and secondary ball-handler who seemingly has the vision and ability to handle pressure to make it seem as though he could handle some minutes at the position down the road. Averaging 3.6 assists and 2.8 turnovers per-40 minutes pace adjusted, it will be interesting to see how Hamilton fares as a passer and shot creator as a senior when Smith, who ranks among the top passers in the college game in the past decade, has graduated.

Defensively, Hamilton's length and athleticism allow him to make some positive contributions for Louisiana Tech, which applies full court pressure as frequently as almost any team in the country and plays the passing lanes very aggressively as a team in the half court. Showing impressive quickness and conditioning picking up the length of the floor, Hamilton can be a factor in the passing lanes in the half court, but can also get a bit lackadaisical at times defending the ball. A stout individual defender when he wants to be, Hamilton has nice potential on this end of the floor, even if he gives up dribble penetration more frequently than he should from time to time.

Though he still has room to improve as a shooter, Alex Hamilton shows the type of athleticism and shot creating ability that NBA teams like to see in shooting guard prospects. He'll have to improve his jump-shot to make it eventually, as that would take his offensive game to another level, and would benefit from improving his decision-making and right hand, but Hamilton is a player worth keeping tabs on over the next couple years.

Unfortunately Fresno State has not been a very effective perimeter shooting team this season, meaning they'll need their senior and leading scorer Marvelle Harris to get hot and create a great deal of offense off the pick and roll and isolations for both himself and his teammates like he's shown the ability to at times this year. His matchup with Utah's big point guard Lorenzo Bonam will be highly influential in deciding this contest.

Harris does not have great size at around 6'4, but has long arms and a strong frame that he uses to overpower opposing guards at the college level. He is very good in the open floor, showing an extra gear that surprises you at times considering he does not look like a freakish athlete on first glance. He's an effective straight-line ball-handler who loves to bully his way into contact, and doesn't turn the ball over as much as you'd think considering his style of play.

Harris is a far better off the dribble shooter than he is with his feet set, often settling for the first shot he can find, whether with a hand in his face or not. For Fresno State to have any chance of winning this game, they'll need Harris to exceed his typical middling shooting percentages (44% 2P%, 33% 3P%).

Defensively, his long wingspan and strong frame are assets at the college level, but his poor fundamentals and awareness cause him to fall asleep in his stance and lose opponents off the ball, and reach, swipe and bite on fakes unnecessarily.
